Objectives of Pakistan Institute of Human Rights |
| 1. |
Establishment of a just, secure, tolerant and democratic Society in Pakistan which can be achieved by promotion of the Universal Human Rights values through education, mass awareness, advocacy, and delivery of services. |
| 2. |
It is unfortunate that an internationally pre-existent gulf between deferent cultures and civilizations is not only widened but also made the future of the universally accepted Human Rights values and International Institutions questionable. The institute (PIHR) believes there is a need to bridge the above mentioned gulf between cultures and civilizations by facilitating the North-South or East-West dialogue and academic discourse. |
3. |
Keep the original concept of Human Rights intact in its true letter and spirit. As envisaged in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 10 December 1948, which is being meddled and drifted away from its original goals. |
4. |
Internationally it is the right time to emphasis the UNIVERSALISATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS in its true sense so that every culture may duly contribute its share and experience in the over all development of the Human Rights. |
5. |
International Institutions are, some how, being used for political purposes. This has not only widened the pre-existent gulf between the North and the South, but has also endangered the impartiality of the International Institutions. It is required that efforts need to be made in order to maintain the impartiality of the International Institutions vis-à-vis the Universal concept of Human Right which has nothing to do with the global power politics. |
6. |
To protect the universal human rights values from politicization. Once this noble concept is politicized it will affect the working of all human rights and humanitarian institutions internationally. |
7. |
An emphasis is required to be given on the morality or the moral aspect of the Human Rights concept also. |
8. |
Presently the concept of Universal Human Rights is interpreted in the perspective of over individualism and rights for the sake of rights, which is believed by the institute (PIHR) as an imbalanced trend towards the interpretation of Universal Human Rights concept. An emphasis should be given on the individual and collective Duties also. Like wise Economic, Cultural and Social Rights must be equally emphasized as Civil and political Rights. |
9. |
To establish a state of the art facility of international standard for academic research by establishing a library, documentation center or by any other mean so that everybody will have access to all the relevant information necessary for the establishment of just , secure and prosperous society in Pakistan. |
10. |
To support and collaborate all or any effort being done by any other institution, organization or even an individual nationally or internationally. |
11. |
To use all the available tools of latest technology for dissemination of fast and cheap information to all. |
12. |
To collaborate with the educational institution of all kind including religion seminaries to promote human rights education in their curricula. |
